Willard Augustus Phillips, 79, of Greenville, joined his beloved wife, Betty, in Heaven on Saturday, February 6, 2010.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Wesley Augustus and Estey Kennemore Phillips.
Mr. Phillips served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; and was a member of Dunean Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
He is survived by three daughters: Towanda K. Phillips of Anderson, Elizabeth Phillips of Lexington, and Tammy Darlene Simpson of Anderson; one son: Steven Phillips of Mt. Holly N.C.; two step-sons: Gene and Sandy Coggins of Piedmont, and Roger Stone of Anderson; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by 15 brothers and sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at Dunean Baptist Church, with burial following at Greenville Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:15 p.m. at the church.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bunny Aman and Carrie Becker for all the love and tender care they gave to our Dad.
