William Alton Durham, 82, of Columbus, NC, widower of ElRollan Alberson "Boots" Durham, died Monday, December 22, 2008 at his home.
Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late George A. and Lois Ellison Durham.
Mr. Durham was retired from JP Stevens and a member of West Gantt First Baptist Church for 50 years. He was a United States Navy veteran.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra "Sandy" and A.Y. Brown of Columbus, NC, Teri and Jackie Soares of Rocklin, CA; a brother, A. Wayne Durham of Piedmont; and two grandchildren, Brittany Bond of Summerville and Austin Sheldon of Fairfield, CA.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W. Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 27, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. at West Gantt First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
